Canning tomatoes.
I’m looking forward to trying my hand at tomatoes this year!
This is our first year having a garden. I cannot wait to can our goodies to enjoy all year long!
I lOVE canning hoemmade SALSA! Yummy!
Tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes! All kinds of veggies really, but I love home made tomato products. Jams would be nice, too.
Oooooo….I would love to try my hand at canning. Starting with something other than a pressure canner is probably a good idea for me!
Oh, this looks wonderful! I’ve never canned before, but we’re part of a CSA and I would love to have canned tomatoes during the winter.
Tomatoes, easily. I used to can tomatoes with my mom and it brings back a bunch of really great memories.
Canning something is on my list of 101 things in 1001 days. This would be a great incentive to can something this season. I so hope I get picked!
Boysenberry jam–yum!
I would love to can tomatoes as well. I seem to cook with them most days of the week. What a great help that would be!
I have always wanted to try my hand at canning, but I have not had courage enough. This year I would like to try canning some of our peaches as well as veggies from the garden. I will try to be brave!
I would like to can strawberry preserves, so I can taste yummy all year round.
I’m planning on making strawberry jam from our new thriving strawberry plants. I also would love to can tomatoes. Hopefully we’ll have an abundance this summer since last years plants were a bust.
I would love to try and start canning! Thanks! J
Tomatoes but especially homemade spaghetti sauce. Like eating summer all winter long!
My vegetable garden is coming along beautifully this year, and I’m looking forward to making spaghetti sauce with all home-grown ingredients — tomatoes, green peppers, oregano, basil, garlic. I can’t wait! I’ve canned for many years, but last year broke the handle on my canner… (hint hint!).
I started the summer with my first canning experience: strawberry jam. Easy Peasy. I’m ready to kick it up a notch. Peaches and Tomatoes are next on the docket, and I’d love your help with this awesome starter’s kit!
I’ve always wanted to try canning but never got around to buying the supplies. This would be perfect.
I’m really looking forward to canning this season. Last year all I was able to do was freeze some cherries. Here’s hoping for an great starter’s kit!

My friends and I were just talking last week about learning to can! This would be great!
I am looking forward to canning tomatoes, learning from my mother.
I can’t wait to steal all the strawberries my mother has in her garden. Last year she planted 75 plants and this year there has been an explosion of the berries. All the more for me to eat!!!
I have only done freezer canning because I’ve always been a little intimidated by the process of “real” canning. However, this year there are some lovely mustang grapes growing on the roadside near my house, and I’ve been looking forward to trying canning this year for the first time. I remember my mom and my aunt canning mustang grape jelly when I was a kid…it was so yummy!
I have never canned anything before, but with the current state of the economy I am all about saving money wherever and whenever possible. I can’t wait to get started! Thanks!
My grandmothers grape jelly! It is the best ever.
Oh, this is so cool! I’m one who hasn’t canned but need to.
I’ll be canning anything that I can get a good price on!!!
Or, I can try homemade sauces and chili to have on hand.
Oh, wait, strawberry jam sounds so good, too!
Oh, I’ve always wanted to try canning but have never had the courage to try it. We’ve got a small veggie garden this year and it would be great to preserve some of our tomotoes and I’d love to make some homeade jam!
…being able to say “I did it” to something I never thought I’d be able to do!
I am so eager to try canning this winter. See, I live in Florida, so we’ll be starting our veggie patch in the fall. I intend to grow a lot of tomatoes, and will be trying my hand at canning tomato sauce and salsa.
We did a small garden this past winter/spring, and got tons of tomatoes, but mostly little ones, and they were very good not to come in all at once. But next time I hope to get a bunch at once so I can do this canning thing!
Thanks!
Cindy
I want to start canning. It seems so “together” to have so much food on hand. And such a frugal way to eat, especially if you have a garden, or have friends and family who do!
I read you always, however this is my first time commenting! I remember when I was young, my dad would make homemade strawberry jam every summer…we would even go pick the strawberries! So I would make strawberry jam…mmm!
This is my first year with a garden- and I have a huge one! I’ll be getting produce to can any day now, but don’t have my supplies yet! Currently on the list: Green beans, red tomatoes, purple tomatoes, yellow tomatoes, rose petal jelly, mulberry jam… I set my hopes high
I just made stawberry jam for the first time…very exciting! I did the canning with my mom who has all the supplies. It would be really fabulous to have my own:)
Ooo…I was just going to say jams and jellies but then as I was reading the other comments I got inspired to do salsa and applesauce!!!
I would love to try canning my own applesauce as well as my own recipe spaghetti sauce.
I love canned peaches and tomotoes!
What an exciting give away! I’ll have to go with tomatoes for my answer. This is in hopes that IF I don’t kill my tomato plants I’ll have an over abundance of them!
I am looking forward to canning peaches and strawberry jam.
Oh yum!! I’d love to can strawberries or cherries!
honestly, i hated canning growing up. My Mom MADE us help her!!
Now that I am a grown up with children, I actually enjoy it. My favorite part is the gardening aspect of it….how cool is it that WE actually grew the food we are preserving!?!? I am so excited about this giveaway, because I don’t have my own stuff. I still can with my Mom!!
I am a first time canner! I would love to can my own salsa as well as some applesauce!
We moved into a house with lots of fruit trees. I would love to win this!
My husband loves to garden, but he does not eat ANYTHING he grows! So, canning is my only opportunity to really make good use of the garden. Since I can’t keep everything right when it is ready, I can it to eat in the future!
I want to can zucchini relish.. I heard it is great!
we have lots of fruit trees at my apartment complex. I would love to try canning these. Produce is so expensive. This would be the deal of the century!
In the past I’ve only canned blackberry jam–and it was yummy! I’d really like to try canning tomatoes or salsa or sweet pepper relish.
Fruit preserves and tomatoes.
I think peaches tops the list. That was my favorite as a child. My mom used to can some raspberry sauce that was also the best on ice cream.
I am working hard to embrace the fact that we need to be more self-reliant. I want to can it all!!! Besides my annual jam(that I have to make at my mom’s because I don’t have the equipment) I plan on having an abundance of tomatoes to do something with! I would LOVE to win this set!

I would love to can peaches. My mom canned all sorts of fruits and vegetables while I was growing up. I’d love to start canning too!
I’m most looking forward to no longer being too intimidated to try this out. This is a great skill to have, and it probably isn’t even very hard if you have the right equipment!
Good grief! I have not canned in at least 5 years. I made apple butter one fall, and I was just thinking recently that I should do it again this year.
The Farmer’s Market on my town green starts up for the season next week, and I really want to try making some berry jams for my little one.
I have never canned, but I really want to try it. I just don’t have all the stuff yet. I want to be able to can pie fillings and spaghetti sauces and pepper jelly’s

I’m looking forward to making some jam this summer once berries come into season. I’m learning a lot about food preservation, thanks to my mom and fellow bloggers.
I always wondered how I could preserve strawberries and peaches and I guess canning is the way to go. This would be great for a first timer.
I’d like to try to can jelly and jams again. I’ve done it twice in classes, and both times messed up (once my fault, once my partner’s!), so I’m looking forward to trying again now that I know how to do it right!
Tomatoes for sure! With the recent outbreak of salmonella I wish I had canned tomatoes to live off of while the stores weren’t selling them! I suffered!
Oh and jams! And veggies! Ah heck, I’ll can anything you want me to!
I’d love to try making some hot Kimchee this summer, or maybe chow chow, which my mother-in-law makes. I haven’t canned in about 10 years, when I made a killer salsa. This would get me started again!
I have never canned before, but would love to can peaches! I buy the huge boxes of them when they’re on sale, but can never eat them fast enough!
I am looking forward to canning homemade salsa!
I’ve never canned before, but I would LOVE to learn to do pickles! My aunt always had home-canned goods in her house, and her bread and butter pickles were to die for!

Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

I’ve never canned, but I’ve been wanting to try it. I’d especially like to can strawberry jam & my homemade salsa.
There is nothing better than opening up a home canned jar of peaches in the dead of winter. It’s like opening up a jar of summer right in the kitchen!!
salsa!
The fruits and veggies my picky kids love in summer would be great to eat in winter too — blueberries, beans, carrots. This would be a great way to get started on something I’ve always wanted to try.
I haven’t canned before, but I think I would like to try jams/jellies…
I just canned my first 26 jars of peaches from our tree with a borrowed water canner. I’d love to have my own for the rest of our peaches, nectarines, plums, pluots, apriums and tomatoes!
Well it would certainly impress my mother in law! I am not the daughter in law she hoped for because I don’t can my food. But I totally could if I had this kit and then I could really get in her good books
I absolutely love canning tomato juice with my Mom. It’s our summertime tradition, and even though it’s technically ‘work’ it really doesn’t feel like it when I’m canning with my Mom. It is my most cherished memory, and I’m lucky enough to make it every year.
pickled asparagus and zuccini, my grandma did it when I was little I love it (I was the only one so she never made it again)
Growing up on a farm, my mom used to can or freeze nearly all that our garden produced during the summer. I have always wanted to start canning foods for my family, even if it is just tomatoes from a small garden plot. That seems to be the one item we go through the most of in this family.
I am looking forward to canning my own tomato sauce. I would love to be able to regulate the amount of sodium that is in it, as it is so difficult to find low-sodium sauces in the store! Thanks!
I am really just looking forward to learning to can. Our 4-year old daughter has Celiac Disease and so most store-bought food is out of the question. Everything has to be home-made!
I want to can homemade salsa (using our homegrown tomatoes) for Christmas presents!
I want to get all of my grandmother’s canning recipes. Her chokecherry jelly, cinnamon pears, peaches and apple butter were always in our Christmas packages and everyone’s favorite gift!
I consider canning an art form because there is nothing more beautiful then pantry shelves filled with a colorful array of home-canned produce. Every time I see the jars, I feel secure in the knowledge my food supplies are safe and I can revisit a small piece of summer whenever I want by opening a jar and tasting the produce.
Oooh…I would LOVE to learn how to can cherry pie filling!
I have never canned before but really want to learn how. Making homemade strawberry jam sounds wonderful….it’s so delicious!

My mom always canned, and I would love to do the same! Fresh salsa and strawberry jam!
My husband got out the military one year ago and we have since moved back to his hometown way out in the country. Now that I have enough space and time to have a garden I would love to learn to can some garden fresh goodies as well!
This is so exciting! I’ve finally gotten up the courage to follow in the footsteps of my mom and grandmother and begin to can, but don’t know where to begin! I hope I win!!!!! ~v
What a perfect giveaway!!! I just found a recipe for making strawberry jam and I was just trying to find out all of the supplies I’d need.

Sounds great! Count me in!
I’m looking forward to learning more about canning – I’ve done it a little, but each time I learn a little more.
Tomatoes, Greenbeans and Salsa!
My mom made the best canned crabapples…actually, I’ve never had anyone else’s canned crabapples as anything other than jelly! It’s been years since I’ve had any of my mom’s. But this year she said she knows someone who has the right kind of crabapples who might be willing to give them to me! Then she’ll come over and teach me how to can them. So before then, I need to get some supplies!
I’m looking forward to canning pickles for my husband this year. He goes through a ton of them, and this should save us quite a bit of money!
I used to help my mom can peaches and crab apples. I have been wanting to can using my mom’s crab apple recipe.
I just hope she can remember it! My sister and I want to have a canning get together every year to can what we grow and then some.

I have planted an organic garden (lots of tomatos!)in my yard because of the high prices of food, and not knowing what the stuff in the stores has been sprayed with. I am looking forward to canning so that I can preserve them to eat this winter
is it too late to try? I planted my first garden this year, and am looking forward to keeping some of the produce for winter – we don’t have space for a freezer, so I’m looking at canning!
this would be wonderful!!
I have started a canning club with my friend Tracy, why go it alone when you can have fun figuring things out with a friend… Anyways we are looking for any advice you may have and will be canning our hearts out the 4th of July weekend, practicing on some cherries picked fresh from the neighbor’s tree. Wish us luck b/c we’re gonna need it!
I am looking forward to enjoying summer fruit jams in January!
Yesterday I began reading the Ball book, I went to the store and purchased the rack, jars, and pan large enough for the rack. I made strawberry jam, salsa and spaghetti. I’m hooked on canning!!!
