I don’t use coupons because I don’t know where to get them. We do not buy the newspaper and most stores I shop no longer accept internet coupons you print yourself because too many people were using fraudulent copies. So either I pay for a newspaper I can read online for free just to get coupons I may not use (even with coupons generic or store brand is usually cheaper). Or I use my own paper and printer ink (cartridges are NOT cheap) to print out coupons most stores won’t accept.
If there was a way to get and use coupons that didn’t cost me anything I would do it.
If you knew there was $20 inside of every newspaper you bought, would you buy it?
That’s what I do. Every Sunday (or Saturday for the Early Edition), I pick up three newspapers for my base of coupons; my stores, unlike T’s, still accept IPs, even after the Facebook scare (thank goodness).
I teach a couponing class as well, and the proceeds of that class more than pay for any expense I put out for papers. My pantry is constantly stocked and my current spending power is $1=$10 (for every $1 I spend, I purchase $10 worth of goods).
My most recent receipt, in fact; my net expense was about $10. I purchased $120 worth of products. How did I do it? Proper planning and coupons.
I wish, oh how I wish, that we had coupons in Australia. Not only for saving money, but I’m the type of organised person who could really get into the whole coupon thing!
