The news the last few weeks has been pretty grim.  People have seen the values of their 401K plummet and the declining economy is all anybody can talk about on the news. 

In some areas, people don’t seem to concerned about it.  Sure, they aren’t happy that the value of their 401K is less, but they are confident that it will rebound.

And then on the other side, you have people running around like Henny Penny screaming that the sky is falling!
