Since we’re currently expecting Baby #4 and we’ve spent the past five years having babies, there’s not much we really need for our newest baby, especially if we end up having our fourth baby girl. But either way – boy or girl – the basics are pretty much taken care of, and we’ve got more than enough hand-me-downs to cover any baby boy needs as well.
That said, there are a few things that might not be necessary but sure are fun now that we don’t have to worry about car seats, swings, slings, burp clothes, diaper bags and so on. I’m so excited to tell you about three of my favorites…
Gigi Belts
These easy snap-on belts for babies – designed and handmade by creator Barbara Fernandez Bussa – are an adorable fashion accessory for any baby. I’ll admit I love dressing my babies in little blue jeans or khakis, and these belts complete any outfit with such cuteness that you’ll just want to say, “Awww!” Even better, Gigi Belts are well made and come in a variety of styles/colors. These may just be my latest addiction with so many to choose from!
Baby Dipper
The Baby Dipper is a bowl-and-spoon set unlike any I’ve ever seen before! Invented by Barbara Shantz, a busy mom of two sets of twins, the Baby Dipper provides a one-handed feeding solution. The bowl has a non-slip base to prevent it from sliding across the table or highchair tray, but that’s just the start. It is also contoured inside so that the food naturally slides to one corner. And that corner is molded to be the perfect shape for the spoon, making it easier to scoop each and every bite. I’ve used this bowl to feed my 18mo, and she loves using it by herself as well, but I really can’t wait until it’s time to introduce solids to another new baby because I’m so excited about how functional this bowl really is!
Wonder Bumpers
And finally, I am loving this new, ingenious bumper design from Go Mama Go Designs. Created to address concerns about the breathability of traditional bumpers, the Wonder Bumpers are designed to cushion each individual rail (and keep your crib from looking like a bare baby jail!) while still protecting baby from bumping his or her head. Even better, they eliminate the fear that comes with having an older baby or toddler who can use a traditional bumper to climb – or fall! – out of the crib. Each bumper is soft and cushy and adorable, with a reversible design so that you can create the pattern of your choice for your crib rails.
