Though many of us are still wearing heavy coats and gloves, Spring is just around the corner! And it’s the time of year when we usually start wanting to clear out the cobwebs, reorganize, scrub and shine. That’s right…SPRING CLEANING!
Want to get your kids involved? Here are 5 great ideas!
- Have a mock fashion show to find out what clothes from last year still fit your children. Snap pictures and everything! Make it fun! Then gather the outgrown ones for consignment sales or charity donation.
- Put large bins/boxes in the playroom. Label them clearly: Keep, Give, Toss. Let your children sort their toys accordingly.
- Turn on some fun tunes (ones your kids love) and attack those dust-bunnies together. Kids are the perfect height for cleaning baseboards!
- Fill a bucket with soapy water and let your kids wash the window sills, wipe out empty drawers, clean old dusty toys.
- Enlist the kids for pulling out all the “stuff” that’s under beds, under the couch, in the bottom of closets.
Just be sure to praise their efforts!
Encourage them to keep their rooms clean throughout the year. Be sure you use an organization system that is simple enough for them to do it themselves.
Enjoy the fresh start of a new season!
