The cold weather may be keeping us inside more, but it’s no excuse not to keep our kids active this winter!
Our new favorite activity is what we call “Zooga.” It’s stretching, bending and moving like animals! Here are some ideas to get you moving too!
You start off with a slow animal- on the farm it could be the rooster. First he stretches out his neck and kicks his feet to wake up. Then we roll around like pigs in the mud, gallop like horses, flap our wings like chickens, walk slowly like cows, and run around like dogs herding sheep.
You can do “Zooga” with lots of different animal groups.
- In the rain forest slither like snakes, flap your wings like a parrot, and act silly like a monkey.
- At the beach stretch like a star fish, walk like a crab, and jump like a dolphin.
- Visit the jungle and stomp like an elephant, stretch like a giraffe, and run fast like a panther.
- Shrink down to bug-size and flap your wings like a butterfly, wiggle like an inch worm, or be busy like an ant.
Just be creative and get moving! You kids will love pretending to be the different animals and you will all get a great work-out!
