Health & Safety Tips for Your School Kids
The summer has flown by and it’s already back-to-school time for many children. Most parents have started purchasing school supplies, backpacks, lunchboxes and new clothes for their children. But what about health and safety tips?
Does your child know how to handle bullying? Does she have study habits that can help prevent eye strain? Do you have a plan for after school care? Does he understand the rules for school bus safety? There’s much more to back-to-school than some new uniform shirts and a cool pencil box.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has published Back to School Tips that include topics like:
- Making the first day easier
- Backpack safety
- Traveling to and from school
- Eating during the school day
- Bullying
- Before and after school care
- Developing good homework and study skills
