Ugly as it is, bullying is something that many of us dealt with at some point. And it is, unfortunately, still around. As parents, we obviously want to do whatever we can to ensure that our own children know how to deal with bullies. But what does that include?
How do you deal with a bully?
How do we teach our children to stick up for themselves without resorting to violence? How do we make them less likely to be a victim of bullying in the first place? How do we keep our own “cool” when we’re angry that someone is picking on our child?
While there are probably no carved-in-stone right and wrong answers to these questions, there are many suggestions for ways to prepare for and cope with the reality of bullying. Here are some of my favorites from everything.com.
Good luck. We hope you and your family have a wonderful new school year!
