Back-to-school time can be an anxious, stressful time for any child. But for kids with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and their parents, it can become overwhelming very quickly. New schedules, new environments, strange teachers and classmates . . . any of these can trigger a number of less-than-desirable behaviors and emotional responses.
Dr. Frea rocks again!
As parents, it is our job to minimize these issues as much as humanly possible and create as calm of an existence as we can for our special needs children.
Dr. Bill Frea, co-founder of Autism Spectrum Therapies, has created another fantastic tip sheet for parents of ASD kids to provide us with ideas and strategies for a smooth back-to-school transition.
Check back here at Special Needs Bliss on a regular basis to find more of Dr. Frea’s helpful and timely tip sheets for families of children on the autism spectrum.
