Having a baby around means diapers, bottles, spitup and laundry. But did you know that you can also find some great beauty products in all there too?
Diaper Wipes:
Kirkland Wipes are a makeup artist’s secret – they are terrific at removing makeup (especially eye makeup). I always have a package of them in my makeup case for clients -they are made of real cotton, alcohol and scent-free, and are hypoallergenic, making them ideal for you and your baby.
Baby Wash:
I love the smell of Johnson’s Lavender Baby wash – so much that I started using it in the shower, and you know what? It makes my skin feel terrific! The same ingredients that make it gentle for your baby’s skin also make it the ideal shower wash. Plus the bonus? It doesn’t sting your eyes!
Baby Oil:
We have all used baby oil for softening our own skin (or, if you are old enough, used it for tanning-yikes!), but Baby oil also makes a great eye makeup remover (not recommended for people who wear contacts though!)
Diaper Cream:
Zinc-based diaper creams – my favorites are Burt’s Bees and Penaten (obscure German product found online and in German delis -but the best thing for a bad rash!), make a fantastic sunblock in a pinch, and are great first aid ointments too – so soothing for irritation from waxing, tweezing or shaving.
Baby Shampoo:
I am not going to tell you to wash your hair with it – but it IS the perfect soap for your makeup brushes. Fill a sink up with warm water and about a capful of baby shampoo. Swish your brushes around (do not let them soak), work the soapy water into them, and rinse well. Squeeze the water out gently and lay them on a towel to dry.
Baby Powder:
Once again, I am loving Johnson’s Lavender line, and their lavender baby powder can help you extend your hairdo an extra day when you just can’t grab a shower. Lightly sprinkle the powder at your roots and brush thru – voila! – no more oil!
Babies get all the cool stuff, but I think they are willing to share…If you have any other tips for double-duty baby products, leave them in the comments!

There is nothing better to put on your legs after shaving than baby oil!
the kirkland wipes tip is awesome!
here is a question I always wondered but I was too embarrassed to ask:
When you are using an acne face wash, are they assuming that you’ve already ‘washed’ your makeup off your face first? I never knew if I was supposed to remove makeup first before using a face wash. And if so, what do you use?? (I will pick up some wipes now)
I have always used baby oil and vaseline to remove my waterproof eye make up and I recently read that it is recommended you do that because it’s good for your lashes!
Great tips! love them!
