Blended Families On Television

When I was growing up, there were few examples of “non-traditional” family situations on television. I watched “Brady Bunch” repeats frequently, and the family was so seamlessly merged I forgot that Mike wasn’t the biological father of Cindy, Marcia, and Jan and the boys weren’t calling Mrs. Brady, “Carol” – they called her “Mom”. These days, there are a few more examples of stepfamilies on television (My daughter loves Nickelodeon’s “Drake & Josh”, for example), but still not that many. I realized that I was really struggling to come up with portrayals of stepfamilies on television.
What are your favorite examples – current and past – of step/blended families on television?

My favorite is probably: “Once and Again” with Sela Ward and Bill Campbell. 1999-2002
