A few years ago my husband’s brother and his wife asked us to come over for dinner. March 17 was on Sunday that year, and my SIL mentioned that she was going to cook corned beef & cabbage. I didn’t think my boys would like that too much, so I asked if it was all right if we had Reubens instead.
I think this will be year #4 for this event. She cooks the meat and makes a salad. I bring the sandwich fixings and chips. The kids eat grilled cheese while the “grown-ups” chow on more mature fare.
March is the first month with no holidays (since OCTOBER!), so this is a fun way to break into spring.
