Ever worried that something might happen to your little one and you could not be reached? I’ve recently discovered Family Information Cards (also known as Mommy Cards). My “peace of mind” factor has sky-rocketed!
A Family Information Card is simply a business card that includes all parental contact information. Hand them out to anyone who might be caring for your precious baby:
- Parents on playdates
- Babysitters
- Teachers
- Doctors
Or simply tuck one into your child’s pocket in the event he/she became separated from you.
WHAT SHOULD YOU PUT ON THE CARD?
The most important information to print on the cards includes:
- Children’s Names
- Parent’s Names
- Address
- Home/Cell/Work Telephone Numbers
- E-mail Addresses
PRINTING RESOURCES
Vertical Printing & Graphics designed the “Call Me Card” pictured above. Search their site for “Mommy Cards” to see more of their wonderful designs.
Vista Print and Zazzle both have a huge variety of cute pre-made designs to choose from. Just plug in your information and order up.

On the ones that I have, I have my name, my kids’ names, address, cell & home phone, and email address.
I used to sell Mommy cards in my Etsy shop, but I started just altering the size for them to be printed through Vista Print and have them as free downloads on my blog.
I love using these! Plus it is so much easier than scrambling for a pen & paper.
I used to be a rep for a Child Safety company and one of the things we sold were medical release/alt care-giver information cards that Velcro to car seats, in the event the parent would be incapacitated during an accident.
For little ones who don’t know their address/phone yet, you can put stickers with the info inside their shoes. You can also get free fingerprinting and id safety kits for your child at your local police department.
I’m so glad to see this post. For the last few years I’ve been making my own versions of these at home and printing them myself on the Avery business cards you can buy at an office supply store. Usually people look at me cross-eyed when I hand them to them. It’ll be fun to see people pick up on the trend and start using them. They really are convenient.
