As the school year comes to an end, many moms are trying to come up with original ideas for teacher appreciation gifts…ones that don’t break the piggy bank. Need some ideas?
- Homemade goodies in a cute container (think reusable…like a pencil box or coffee mug)
- Donate books to the library in his/her honor and send a note letting him/her know
- Items for the classroom (games, art supplies, class pet food)
- Scrapbook of the year (this requires planning ahead and possibly working together with other families)
- Big bowl filled with microwave popcorn packs and gift certificates for movie rental
- Personalized notepads/pencils
- Merchandise from Make-A-Wish because teachers will love that the proceeds benefit children
- Plastic storage bin filled with school supplies (because teachers often purchase these items with their own money)
- Donation to a children’s charity in the teacher’s honor
Do you have other ideas? Please do share!

I like to make my kids’ teachers a book mark and then give them a GC to Amazon or Barnes & Noble. I like to think that over the summer they’ll have some time to sit and enjoy themselves for a bit.
My husband was given SEVEN coffee mugs at the end of last year, and four the year before. I’m not so keen on the gifts in coffee mugs idea!
He has also received a few bottles of wine as end of year gifts, which is something that we have appreciated.
