We always need new tools for our “parents’ bag of tricks.” Thankfully, the Internet provides a wealth of information at our fingertips, but wading through the massive amounts of information can be overwhelming. Below are sites I have found especially helpful in my journey as a teacher and a mom.
Do2Learn:Tons of free printables, including icons for making visual schedules and organizers, as well as a section dedicated to current research.
SENteacher:Free!! Online activities, links and printables. MY GO-TO PLACE!
Virtual Manipulatives: Many special needs children have a difficult time with math. Using manipulatives, such as these virtual ones, can save you time and tears at homework time.
US Department of Education: I use this site for all the “legal” rights types of questions. Also wonderful information about NCLB and State funding.
Have a great resource or trick for your tool kit? PLEASE share!
