I made a ‘to do’ list for today. You know how it goes on Mondays: laundry, wipe down kitchen counters, swiffer the kitchen floor, vacuum the living room, quick wipe potties… you know the drill. Monday is sort of a catch-up day after a busy weekend. For the record, I actually have a load of laundry started.
The rest of my list? Well… Number 2 Son came out of bed and asked "Momma, I hold you on the couch?" Who could resist THAT? We sat on the couch for a long while. Then Number 1 Son came out of his bed, "Mom, I’m cold. Will you snuggle with me?". By this time, Number 3 Son woke up too so all three boys and I relocated to MY bed with our respective favorite blankets and snuggled while we watched "Dora the Explorer". Boy 1 may have been cold… I was under 120 pounds of BOY and I was sweating. Somewhere in the back of mind, I thought "This is a blog post waiting to happen".
I love SNUGGLE TIME with my boys. Soon Boys 1 and 2 will be in kindergarten and preschool and we won’t have time to just snuggle down and watch Dora on a Monday morning. Pretty soon, they will either be too big or too cool to snuggle with their mom at all!
To do list? Not important today. I’m taking the time to snuggle with my little men. Laundry will always be there; so will sticky counters in the kitchen… little boys who like to hang out with Mom? Not so much. I’ll take SNUGGLING anytime!

What a great post! I have started keeping a gratitude list this summer, and it has really helped me focus on the important things like this… Sweetpea has returned to night waking the past week as she tries to break a few molars through. As I sit there rocking and nursing her back to sleep I think, “how crazy, but I’m going to really miss this when my little girl grows up!” Gotta love snuggling with the littles!
take care,
Steph
That ended up being a wonderful “to do” list. How great. I love morning snuggle time with my daughter. It is the best.
Take it and revel in it while you can get it – that’s my theory too!
How sweet! I just love days like that!
