There’s Still Time for Summer Fun with the Family
Summer may be coming to a close and the return to school may be right around the corner for most, but we still have time to squeeze every bit of fun from summer with our families!
Before the routine reverts to waking early, carpool lines, homework, and early bedtimes, take the time to do a few of these activities with your family.
Make Some More Summer Memories Together!
- Set up the sprinklers in the back yard and run wildly through them. Take a break for some popsicles! Be a kid WITH your kids.
- Play water balloon baseball. All you need are water balloons, plastic bats and buckets (instead of gloves). Oh yes, and wear your swimsuits for this one!
- Have a backyard campout, complete with roasted marshmallows and ghost stories.
- If you live near a beach, head out to build a family sand castle.
- Pack a picnic lunch and spend the day at a local park.
- Get the neighborhood kids together for old-fashioned relay races: 3-legged race, egg-in-a-spoon relay or potato sack races are always fun!
- Plan an end-of-summer block party for the families on your street. Pool resources for a super fun afternoon of good food and fun fellowship!
Get out there! Enjoy the beautiful weather and carefree days as long as you can. Create memories you can call giggle about during the 2010-2011 school year!
