My favorite childhood ice cream story is that my grandma would always buy us Mint Chocolate chip ice cream when we went to visit. My mom refused to let us eat green ice cream, but grandma was always armed with a bucket of it
My grandma passed away last summer, but Mint chocolate chip ice cream will always remind me of her
My favorite flavor is Bunny Tracks, but I also love the seasonal products too. There’s nothing like a good Peppermint Ice Cream at Christmas time!
Growing up there was a Thrifty store nearby and we would ride our bikes there just to get an ice cream cone. I always ordered Chocolate Malted Crunch (the only “chocolate-based” ice cream I eat). But the best part of going to Thrifty was sitting on the cows to eat our cones. There was a butcher store right next door and each morning they brought out these huge cows that you could climb up and sit on. It was always such a great time.

My best childhoold memories involving ice cream involve my grandparents. We used to spend almost every Sunday at their house eating our “family dinner” together (a tradition that really didn’t end until my grandmother passed away 3 years ago). Those family dinners ALWAYS involved ice cream for dessert and my grandmother would make sure she had each of our favorites on hand. And stick pretzels. To me still, the best taste in the world is still Vanilla Fudge Twirl ice cream as eaten off of a pretzel. The memories that pulls up are my absolute favorites. I might have to buy some ice cream & pretzels at the store tonight…

i remember my great grand mother giving me and my cousin a dime each to go to the neighborhood store to buy ice cream cones. walking there and paying buy ourselves made me feel like a big girl

oops misspelled above. My favorite childhood story about ice cream was going to the company picnics where my dad worked and they would have ice creams bars. So you would pick the ice cream and then go down the line and put all sorts of goodies on the sundaes. It was so much fun and for a little kid, it was heaven.

When I was a child my grandfather and his brother had a piano company in the old downtown section of our city. Occasionally my cousin and I would go to work with him and go into an old drugstore and get those little tubs of ice cream with the wooden spoons. That is one of my favorite ice cream memories.

When I was little my grandparents would take my for ice cream. My favorites were mint chocolate chip and orange sherbet. I hated trying to decide which to get, and every once in a while, they’d let me get a double scoop – one of each!

When I was young, I loved the sound of the ice cream man’s truck! When my cousin and I were well into our 20′s, we were sitting outside and heard the infamous bells. The two of us went running towards the street, crying, “The ice cream man!” We both got Bomb Pops and couldn’t have been happier!
My favorite flavors…. Oh, that’s a toughy. My husband loves the Chocolate Seduction that is out right now. We also like the Super Fudge Brownie. My own favorites tend to be Butter Pecan, or Cookies and Cream, or Mint Chocolate Chip, or rainbow sherbert. But I also really like fudge bars and ice cream sandwiches. LOL — I guess if I win I should start picking the light flavors.

Super Chunky Cookie Dough would definitely be my choice!
When I was a young teenager, my friend and I would go to one of the privately owned, local ice cream shops in the area with whatever change and cashed in bottles we happened to come across!
Sometimes, though, the owner was real cool and would give us the “mistakes” for free or at a really cheap discounts. These were other customer’s orders that the workers made a “mistake” on (putting in the wrong thing or whatever). Good times!

Favorite ice cream story: My dad would take me out for an ice cream cone and I would inevitably have chocolate all over my shirt. He would sneak me in the back door and then my mom would freak out saying I would ruin my dinner…and la la la…dad shouldn’t have taken me. And then dad would whisper that I better eat ALL my dinner….and ha ha I would!!! Our family still laughs about this today!

My favorite memory of ice cream when I was little was when the ice cram truck came through our neighborhood. My brother & I would get excited to hear the truck and we would scrape up change in the house to get us each an ice cream bar. It was a fond memory.

I have always loved ice cream! In fact, I was such a picky eater as a child that it is one of the few things I would eat. My mom took me one time for lunch to Baskin and Robbins and I got to order anything that I wanted. I ordered the Mattahorn which was 7 scoops of ice cream with whip cream. I ate the whole thing by myself!

My favorite ice cream story is when I was 12 and I was first introduced to my now fav ice cream-choc chip cookie dough by my mother. I had always loved eating cake batter and cookie dough when she would bake and I remember on my birthday she threw me a ice cream sundae party and this was one of the featured flavors.

There is absolutely NO better treat/ice cream than Bunny Tracks!!!! NONE!!!! If you haven’t tried this flavor – there is really something missing from your life.
I forgot my story!! When I was about 2 or 3, my Mom would give me a Dixie cup full of ice cream during the summer and we would sit outside on lawn chairs and the ice cream would be all over me and would drip into my belly button! She laughs everytime she tells that story still and I’m in my late 30′s!

My fav memory in childhood is when I heard the bell of ice cream man down the street. I rushed back to him to grab ice cream first and then ask someone to pay for my ice cream.

My favorite ice cream memory is when I was young and after church on Sundays my mom, dad, sister and I would go to the ice cream parlor. We would all order large Hot Fudge Sundaes. They were so delicious and the top was piled with whipped cream.

I always remember going to Friendly’s on Sundays with my grandma. She always got black raspberry and coffee ice cream. Coffee continues to be one of my favorites.
