Our kitten became very sick over the last month. Two Sundays ago, I woke up to find him very ill and decided he needed to be brought to an emergency vet because our military vet was closed.
The emergency vet checked him out and said in order to find exactly what was wrong they would have to run multiple tests that would cost somewhere around $520!
My husband and I decided to take our kitten home for the night and see our military vet early the next morning. We happen to have a great relationship with our military vet and knew we would be able to get our kitten seen – considering how sick he had been for the month and all of the great care he had already had.
Can I just tell you how happy I am we waited?
What was estimated to cost over five hundred dollars off base ended up costing $17 on base! You read that right, SEVENTEEN DOLLARS!
We saved $503 by seeing our military vet.
Many people don’t realize that your base vet will save you hundreds of dollars in care for your pets. A routine checkup for our cat normally costs less than 20 bucks.
We’ve had sonograms done, medication prescribed, special food ordered and overnight stays for our little feline friend and walked out of there with a bill – for all of that – for less then $40.
I highly encourage you to bring your pets to the vet on your base, if you have one.
It is well worth it.
Not to mention, if you end up with a Veterinarian as friendly and accommodating as ours, you will feel completely at ease with the care your pets receive.
