Step 4: Prepare a double boiler by placing 1 inch of water in a pot and setting a heat-proof glass bowl on top (make sure the water doesn’t touch the bowl).

Step 5: Measure out at least 1 cup of chocolate chips. I prefer to use 60% Ghirardelli chocolate chips because they melt incredibly smooth.

Step 6: Keeping the water in the pot at a simmer on low heat, melt the chocolate chips, stirring occasionally.

Step 7: Pull back the leaves of the strawberries, using it as your handle, and dip the strawberries in the chocolate. Hover above the chocolate until the excess chocolate drips off of the strawberry.

Step 8: Gently set the chocolate dipped strawberries on a parchment or silpat-covered baking sheet to dry at room temperature (2 hours) or in the fridge for fast hardening (15 minutes).

Step 9: Dig in!

Note: For extra decoration, sprinkle sprinkles on the melted chocolate before it hardens or after the chocolate hardens, drizzle white or milk chocolate over the chocolate dipped strawberries.

This looks easy. My husband arrives back on Wednesday from a 3 week overseas trip. I’m surprising him with a hotel room in the city where I pick him up and I’m going to have these and some other foods in the room to snack on. He may be wired or zonked or wake up at 2 a.m. I’m just hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable time with him. I’m really excited. Thanks for your help!
