Conversation Heart Popcorn Snack for Valentine’s Day

Its hard to believe we are already in February of the New Year!  And you know what that means – its the month of love!  Everything seems to turn red and pink and worry about what to get that special someone.  If you are like me then you like to give homemade gifts for the big day.  There is just something extra special about hand making a gift for someone.  And I have the perfect homemade gift to make!  Its perfect for kids and adults and is very simple to make.  Check out how to make this fun conversation heart popcorn.

Conversation Heart Popcorn Snack for Valentine's Day

You only need four ingredients to make this popcorn.  You will need:

  • Popcorn [either air popped or from a bag]
  • White chocolate bark
  • Sprinkles
  • Conversation hearts


Start by popping your popcorn and letting it cool.  Spread it out over a cookie sheet while you start melting the white chocolate bark.  You can either melt it in the microwave or with a double boiler.  If you use the microwave, set it for 30 second intervals and stir it after each buzz.  It may take a few minutes to get it creamy.  If you use a double boiler (or a faux double boiler – two similar sized pots stacked on top of each other, the bottom with a cup of water), melt the chocolate on top, stirring until its creamy.  Take the melted chocolate and drizzle it over the popcorn.  Toss it to coat.  Before the white chocolate hardens add your conversation hearts and sprinkles.  Toss one more time and let it cool.  It should be ready in about 30 minutes.  (Or speed it up in the fridge!)

You can put the popcorn in a decorative bag with a sweet little note and you are good to go with a perfect Valentine’s gift.  This would always be great for a classroom party, or just to celebrate the special day with your kids at home.  I know my daughter loved nibbling on this popcorn and kept asking for more.  If you happen to not eat it all in one sitting, it will store in for about a week.  But my guess is that it won’t last that long!
