With the end of the school year swooping down upon us *eek* , the scramble for that perfect teacher gift has mom’s and dad’s minds everywhere swirling.
My mom, who was a teacher and non coffee drinker, had enough coffee mugs to line our street, twice. Enough ornaments for a separate Christmas tree, and enough tchotchkes to open her own shop.
The gifts that were kept, displayed and treasured, were handmade (or gift cards), recipes and the like.
Do you want to stand out in your child’s teacher’s mind this year? These cupcakes will do the trick.
You can find the full recipe and step by step pictures for the Teacher Appreciation Cupcakes at Cookies and Cupcakes.

Oh my WORD – those are adorable, and when I read the recipe I nearly fell over! They would be SO delish!! I may try it if I have time before the end of the school year.
My trouble would most likely be not eating them all before I took them to the teacher. They are gorgeous!
I know a teacher who said, give her something she can use up. Something that wouldn’t stay around. Food was just fine as a gift. My sister gives loaves of zucchini nut bread that’s delicious and the teacher friend said that’s a perfect gift. My sister is a teacher who has tons of mugs. One year she gave them out to the family. We also gave some out as door prizes at my mother’s retirement party. Cupcakes wouid definitely be in the great idea category.
I saw the original post over at Cookies and Cups and have it marked to try someday…they are SO adorable! And those Oreo truffles….YUM!!!
