“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day” – How many times did your Mom tell you that while you were growing up? How many times did you roll your eyes at her when she did?
Well, don’t you dare roll your eyes at me, little missy/mister!!
But this mom is here to tell you, breakfast is indeed the most powerful and important meal of the day!
Eating breakfast can set the tone for your entire day. Will you be energized, attentive, powerful and productive? Or, will you feel sluggish, distracted, sleepy and unmotivated? And what you eat for breakfast, that is even more important.
Throughout the last month I have extolled the virtues of the incredible edible egg, and I’m here to do it again!!! Eating high-quality protein eggs for breakfast provides you with sustained energy because they will not, unlike many breakfast foods, cause a surge in your blood sugars which will later result in the ‘crash’. A recent study even found, that eating eggs for breakfast as part of a reduced calorie diet helped overweight dieters lose 65% more weight, lower than BMI by 61% and feel more energetic than their peers who ate a bagel breakfast of equal calories and volume!* (that’s reason enough for me!)
For all you parents out there, feeding your child breakfast is one of the best ways that you can help them to ensure a successful, productive day at school! Kids who eat breakfast pay better attention in school, they’re more alert and energized throughout their day!
Come on, helping your kid build their foundation for the rest of their lives! Why wouldn’t you want to start their day out with a breakfast that not only energizes their mind and body, but tastes good too!! (you can even make it fun with Green Eggs and Ham or Pink for Valentine’s Day or Orange around Halloween!)
Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day and including eggs in that meal, is starting your day off on the right foot!
