Cooking with Flavored Oils from The Olive Orchard
After a trip to Chicago and dinner at the Atwood Restaurant, I fell in love with flavored oils. I had a fabulous Tomato Salad made with a lemon oil and several spices that was seriously the best salad I had ever eaten. When I was approached to review some of the oils found at The Olive Orchard, I was excited to recreate that dish. Included in the sampler pack I got was Garlic, Lemon, Basil, Hot Red Pepper, Thyme and Orange.
Here is my “Lemon Oil Tomato Salad” which is far from the one at the Atwood, but great none the less.
As easy as cut tomatoes, salt pepper, The Olive Orchard Lemon Oil and a (small) splash of red wine vinegar.
Recipes are easy and delish!
They also suggest combining more than one flavored oil in a recipe. This is great not only for salad dressings but for sauteing fish and marinating chicken as well.

Coincidentally, just today a repeat customer told me how much she loved using our Lemon Olive Oil in a caprese salad. Sliced vine-ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil – covered with a drizzle of Lemon Olive Oil, a splash of balsamic vinegar, and salt/pepper to taste.
