It’s hard to drink hot coffee during those sweltering summer months. Milkshakes, slushies and ice cream floats become frequent lingo. Let’s combine them!

When you pour hot coffee on top of chocolate chip ice cream, the coffee instantly cools and in the process, melts the chocolate chips in the ice cream. Melted coffee chocolate ice cream float. Genius! Can I have one every day?


This coffee float is such a quick way to satisfy the sweet tooth and get your caffeine too! For the children, you can always pour hot chocolate instead of coffee on the ice cream. You can also be creative with the flavor of ice cream. I’m just partial to the melted chocolate chips.

  • Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
  • Hot & Strong Brewed Coffee
  • Whipped Cream
  • Chocolate Syrup
  • Chocolate Sprinkles


  1. Fill a glass with chocolate chip ice cream scoops.
  2. Pour the coffee over the ice cream.
  3. Top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup and chocolate sprinkles.
  4. Enjoy immediately.
