This 4th of July, people all across Our Great Nation, will be getting together to celebrate America’s Birthday! Traditions will be passed on, memories will be made, and BBQ’s will be had. As a mother, I have been thinking a lot about the traditions I grew up with and what I want my children to look back on as they grow up. 4th of July has always been a special holiday for me. As a young girl, it was always about friends, family, food, and fun.
The day started with a parade down Main Street, shopping at the sidewalk sales, a few tosses at the dunking booth and then the real party started. My family; aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, & more, would meet at my great uncles old farm house to share a time of potluck, watermelons, sparklers, & and my favorite grandma’s apricot “fried” pies. YUMM!!
For me these times were defiantly Firework Worthy; for our family now we love to BBQ. This 4th of July you can bet we will be firing up the grill k-bobs, pasta salad, and watermelon, complete with seed spitting will be on the agenda, as well as spending the day outside in the summer sun, only to wrap up it all up with Fireworks, it will be a great day focused on making memories for/with our kids.
To help make your 4th of July Firework Worthy, you need to keep three things in mind
- Food: When looking into your menu options, consider all the fantastic seasonal fruits and veggies. Bowls of cold watermelon, strawberry salads, garden veggie shish ka-bobs & grilled summer squash are all great options to keep your BBQ fresh and fantastic.
- Fun: Keep your BBQ Firework Worthy with a little fun, whether it is a pool party, sharing time watching your local parade and shopping on Main Street, or wrapping it all up phenomenal fireworks displays.
- Friends & Family: No matter where you are or who you spend the day with make this 4th of July Firework worthy by sharing a few of your traditions with those dear to your heart. Happy Birthday America!
