Father’s are a blessing in each of our lives, every one of us has a role model we look up to, we go to for advice, or we go to for security and safe keeping, and many of us of us call him DAD.
Assess the situation. The first thing to a Perfect Father’s Day and most important is to, in guy terms, “assess the situation”. What kind of guy is Dad? Is he competitive? Is he a gadget guy? Maybe Dad is a movie buff, or a nature lover? What does he enjoy? What is he passionate about? Remember this day is all about Dad and celebrating him as a father and mentor.
Plan your day accordingly. Once you pinpoint your dad’s interests, plan accordingly. (Example: For the competitive dad: A day of contests and friendly games, with trophies and prizes of course. For a nature lover: Try geo-caching, or a nice hike; don’t forget the picnic. ) The possibilities are endless, just put yourself in his shoes, and hosting the Perfect Father’s Day Celebration will be a snap.

Men must have food. Obviously we all love party food, and the Perfect Father’s Day Celebration is no exception. Show the Dads at your celebration how important they are to you, but serving up all the favorites. Whether you’re serving chicken fried steak, hamburgers on the grill, or sandwiches; serve it up and make plenty. Dad will know how hard you worked, and that makes it all sweeter!
Steer clear of the Tie . Of course there are usually gifts involved on Father’s Day, but for the Perfect Father’s Day Celebration, a tie just won’t cut it. It’s always nice to get something unexpected; so this year try a specialty shop that is devoted to one of his particular hobbies, or even a homemade gift like his favorite cake, a poem, or homemade funny card. I promise the sentiment will be a nice surprise.
Be Present. Most importantly, don’t get so caught up in the celebrating that you forget the man. Be present and remember to express your thoughts and thanks to your Dad this Father’s Day, because without him the day wouldn’t be perfect at all.
