This brownie recipe is perfect for the busy gal who has never made brownies from scratch. Forget intense directions, with only eight ingredients and being specifically told to totally melt your butter and not sift your flour, this is the perfect quick and delicious brownie recipe.
Another fun feature of this recipe is that, although they are call Deep Dish Brownies, you can prepare them in a 9×13 pan instead and be able to serve more (albeit thinner) brownies. (The photograph actually depicts them in this thinner state, which is the way I always make them. With a family of five, it just makes sense.)
Yield varies based on size of pan used
3/4 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup unsifted all purpose flour
1 and 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup Hershey cocoa
1 and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1. Blend melted butter, sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl.
2. Add eggs; beat well.
3. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl and blend well with a spoon.
4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture until well blended.
5. Spread in greased 13×9 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 21-25 minutes or until brownie begins to pull away from edges of pan. (For the actual deep dish version of these brownies, use an 8×8 pan and bake 40 to 45 minutes.)
6. Cool brownies, and then sprinkle top with powdered sugar (optional). Enjoy!
