Pizza dough is one of those things that I was petrified to make until I actually did it; and now? I’m hooked!
This pizza dough recipe is super easy and tastes amazing. It’s also a great cooking activity for the whole family because everyone can personalize their pizzas perfectly!
Easy Pizza Dough Ingredients:
- 1 Cup warm water (110-115 degrees)
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 Cups all purpose flour
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- Italian seasoning (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon salt
Easy Pizza Dough Directions:
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water, allow to proof for 15 minutes.
- Add olive oil, 2 cups flour, Italian seasoning, and salt to proofed yeast mixture. Add remaining flour until dough is rubbery and slightly tacky, but not firm.
- Knead dough on a lightly floured surface for approximately five minutes. Form dough into a ball and place in greased bowl (turn once to grease top and bottom). Cover and set in a warm place for one hour (I put dough in my oven with the light on).
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Roll dough into preferred shape on a lightly greased pizza pan, baking sheet or stone and brush with olive oil. Bake for 5 minutes then remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Lift dough gently away from pan/baking sheet to prevent it from sticking.
- Top as desired and bake an additional 15-20 minutes (or until crust is lightly browned). For a crispier crust, do second baking directly on oven rack.
Yields two pizzas.
