I recently discovered the joy that is grilled marinated flank steak. We’ve always been big fajita fans, but in the past I would cook pre-cut strips of steak in a pan on the stove. That was, until a few months ago when my brother-in-law suggested trying grilled flank steak in our fajitas. And, now? There’s no turning back! This flank steak marinade will make you a true believer too.
Grilled Flank Steak Marinade Ingredients:
- 1 cup olive oil
- 3/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons course ground mustard
- 6 garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tablespoon onion powder
- 3 pounds flank steak
Grilled Flank Steak Marinade Directions:
- Add all ingredients except flank steak to blender and run until smooth, reserve 1 cup for basting and dipping.
- Pour remaining marinade over steak and refrigerate in a shallow pan or ziploc bag for 24 hours.
- Cook on a medium heat grill over direct heat, basting continually, for 5 – 7 minutes on each side (or until you reach desired done-ness). Proper Meat Temperatures
- Allow to rest 2 minutes before cutting.
- Enjoy on its own, or in some delicious fajitas with your fresh summer veggies!
