This weekend is the biggest weekend in college basketball and, chance are, you’re probably either going somewhere to watch some of the games, or you’re having people over. Whether you’re a guest or a host, you still have to have something on hand to feed those frenzied basketball fans, which is why you need a foolproof go-to recipe that you can pull off in a snap.
For me, this recipe is Chocolate Chip Cheese Dip.
It’s quick and easy, plus, if you bake much, you probably already have most of the ingredients on hand. I like to serve this dip with either vanilla wafers or plain graham crackers; however, you can serve it with whatever you have on hand, provided it’s a simple cookie or cracker with a flavor that won’t compete with the richness and sweetness of the dip.
Chocolate Chip Cheese Dip
- 1 8oz package of cream cheese, softened (I use Neufchatel because it’s a little easier to mix)
- ½ c. butter, softened
- ¾ c. confectioners sugar
- 2 T brown sugar
- ¼ t vanilla
- ¾ c. miniature chocolate chips
- ¾ c. chopped pecans, optional
Mix butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add sugars and vanilla, then fold in chips and nuts. Chill for at least two hours before serving.

Hi! Just wanted to let you know I made this dip with a couple substitutions…I tried HEATH English Toffee bits in one batch and Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Rocky Road Squares (whirled in food processor until crumb size) in the second batch. Ate them with Animal Crackers. It was all YUMMY!!! Thank you for sharing a new favorite!!!
OOO that sounds delicious! What a fun twist!
Ok, I will be trying this very soon!! What a fun treat!
