Turkey Cupcakes

What a cute little guy!!! Have some fun with the kids when decorating these easy turkey cupcakes.

What you need for 1 dozen cupcakes:

  • 12 cupcakes {any flavor} baked in white paper liners
  • 12 mini cupcakes {again, any flavor} baked in white paper liners
  • 1/2 cup vanilla frosting
  • 3/4 cup milk chocolate frosting
  • 12 thin ginger-flavored scalloped cookies
  • chocolate jimmies
  • 1 red fruit leather roll up
  • small tube of black frosting for the eyes
  • 6 marshmallows

1.  Using a frosting bag  with small tip, pipe a dot of white frosting on 7 of the scallops along one edge of the ginger cookie.

2.  Spread the milk chocolate frosting on the top of all the cupcakes, mini and standard, and roll the edge of the standard cupcakes in the chocolate jimmies and the top third only of the mini cupcakes in the jimmies.

3.  Pipe 1 dot of the vanilla frosting just below the center point of the mini cupcakes pulling it out slightly to form the beak.  Now, pipe 2 white dots above the beak for the eyes.  Pipe 2 smaller dots in the center or each eye.

4.  Cut the fruit roll up into twelve 1 1/2 -inch long tear drop shapes and lay over the beak.

5.  Using scarp clean scissors, cut the marshmallows in half on the diagonal placing 1 half, cut side down, near the edge of each standard cupcake.  Pipe a dot of chocolate frosting on the tapered end and place the cookie on the marshmallow, pressing the non decorated side into the frosting on the marshmallow.  Add the mini cupcake head on top so that is it resting on the non decorated side of the cookie and lightly pressing it into the frosting on the standard cupcake to secure.
