The other day I received an e-mail from a Creative Bliss reader. It said,
I love looking at all the awesome projects featured on Creative Bliss. However, I’m not a very crafty person (though I wish I was) and I thought it would be nice if you featured some ideas on how to be creative without being crafty.

That got my wheels turning. Creative without being crafty? Isn’t that on oxymoron? No.
Then I recalled something Molly Sabourin, a writer friend of mine said. She explained how she wanted to leave something special for her children but didn’t have the time or energy to devote to different memory books for each of her four children. So she decided to write them each a special musical ode. Listen to them here. Creative? I think so. Crafty? Not really.
I totally related to what Molly was saying. I too, felt overwhelmed at times when trying to remember to write down the date of every first tooth, step, vegetable, smile and word. So instead of going crazy trying to keep up with someone else’s version of a baby book, I decided to keep a special journal for each of my children where I write long, heartfelt letters or quick blurbs to them…whenever I want!
So, Mina after putting some thought into your question I thought of this awesome project that was started by one of my absolute favorite creative minds, Marta of Marta Writes. Marta is not only a total sweetheart, she’s one of the most creative people in blogland. She has recently started a writing experiment called The Write Club which consists of her posting several prompts on her blog every Monday. All you need is ink, paper and an internet connection. No scissors required. Creativity a must. Join the club!
Hope this helps!
Check out Marta’s Mini Mart where she designs and creates handmade invitations, gift tags and my personal favorite mini diaries!
Molly Sabourin also just released her first book entitled Close to Home where she offers “a new perspective, a pat on the shoulder, a reassuring ‘I’ve been there too, and there is hope.’” to mothers everywhere. Order now to receive 20% off!

It is so true that we can be creative in so many ways. You don’t necessarily need a needle and thread to be creative. It took me a long time to realize that when I wasn’t being crafty because of time and work constraints that I could still be crafty in other ways. Even blogging can be creative!
Great article!
