There once was a bear
with a shaggedy head
Who came into my cabin
and hopped on my bed.
Thus begins the story of The Bear on the Bed.
This humorous tale, written by Ruth Miller and Illustrated by Bill Slavin, tells the reader what happens when a bear shows up in a young boy’s cabin and doesn’t do “regular” bear things.
- He jumps on the bed.
- He hangs from the rafters.
- He dances on the bed.
- He takes a snooze in the bed.
The poor young man who regales us with tales of a bear in his bed just can’t understand WHY this bear isn’t out picking berries, or swimming, or whatever else a bear is supposed to do.
As if the story isn’t outlandish enough, the bear doesn’t something quite unthinkable at the end of the story…
(You’ll have to read it yourself to find out!)
Great for little ones. Silly illustrations, funny story, lots of rhyming, and an ending that will tickle a toddler’s funny-bone.
