In her new book, The Plan A Woman in a Plan B World: What to Do When Life Doesn’t Go According to Plan, Debbie Taylor Williams, ministry leader and Bible teacher, deals with the causes, effect and answer for women who find themselves let down by everything from marriages to careers, from parenting issues to health concerns. In other words … all women.
Williams explains that we all start out with preconceived notions about what our lives will be like, our Plan A. Plan B is what we didn’t expect. She uses wisdom, humor, personal experience and biblical insights to help women see the power in Plan B but also that they don’t have to give up on Plan A. She includes encouraging true stories of women who have faced Plan B disappointments and tragedies and trusted God to fulfill their hopes and dreams.
The book is divided into three parts, each with its own purpose.
- The first is, Live Out Loud: Choosing to disarm Land Minds of the Mind. She ends each chapter with a “Between You and God – Principles to Remember” prayer.
- The second, Love Out Load: Talking It Over with Friends examines the importance of friendships and provides engaging discussion questions.
- The third, and my favorite, is Laugh Out Loud: Living with Joy and Humor which includes a forty day journal to record something about which you’re choosing to see the lighter side of life.
You can read this book on your own but it lends itself to a small group or book club setting.
