Are you a lover of books? Creating a reading alcove is easier than you think and can be cost friendly as well.
* Pick a place in your home that is small, cozy and warm. (Beside a window is the perfect place)
* Grab a comfortable seat. (This chair was purchased at a discount furniture store for $15)
* Find or build a few shelves to display your books. (These were on sale for $7 each)
* Take an old piece of furniture, sand it and stain it. (Dresser: hand-me-down. Stain: $4 small can)
* Buy a few books. (Libraries often give away old books or sell them for as low as $0.10. Dollar stores have great book finds, too)
* Decorate your shelves and furniture with knick knacks from around your home. (Tea sets, lamps, jewelry boxes and trinkets are simple yet elegant)
Follow these simple steps while making sure it is unique to your taste and you’ll undeniably enjoy a quiet, cozy and warm place to retreat.
