There is nothing quite like reading a Dr. Seuss story to your children – the rhythmic rhyming patterns, the nonsensical words, the lessons learned. I have always loved the tongue-twisting prose of Dr. Seuss – and I love it on my iPhone as well.
Oceanhouse Media has released three more of Dr Seuss’s classic stories for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. These stories can be purchased through iTunes.
The three stories are Hop On Pop, Green Eggs & Ham and Gertrude McFuzz. These Dr. Seuss stories and their illustrations come to life on your Apple device of choice – and your child (or YOU, for that matter!) has a choice to have the story read aloud (letting the user turn the page), reading it by oneself, or selecting autoplay which reads and turns the pages automatically.
All three apps are in heavy rotation with my children, and it’s a sanity saver to be able to plug headphones into my iPhone and let my youngest follow the story while we’re in the car or if we’re at an appointment that is less-fun for kids. I wasn’t familiar with the story of Gertrude McFuzz, but my five year old loves it and because it’s fairly short, likes to watch it twice in a row. Every time.
I received review copies of these apps, but the opinions are my own, as always.
