Dr. Seuss’s ridiculous, rhyming stories were some of my favorites when I was a child, and as a mom with kids of my own these stories are some of my favorites to share with them.
“One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish” celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. This classic was first published in 1960 and has been charming young readers ever since.
Oceanhouse Media has timed the release of the “One Fish Two Fish” app to correspond with World Ocean Day, which takes place on June 8. Dr. Seuss has joined The Ocean Project with activities to help your children learn how they can be kinder and care for the ocean and its inhabitants.
The “One Fish Two Fish” app is beautifully executed, and is available for the iPad, as well as the iPhone. With options to have the story read automatically, or read along, the app is easy to use and features the original Dr. Seuss graphics. My youngest daughter opts for “Auto Play” which reads the story and “turns the pages” for her – my older child perfers the “Read It Myself” option.
The app is available for $3.99 via iTunes.

I was provided with a copy of this app for review.
