I have a new book coming out. It’s called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. Well, it’s more of a novella than an actual book—my version of a short story. – Stephenie Meyer
The novella will be released at 12:01 a.m. on June 5 in hardcover ($13.99, with $1 from each sale going to the American Red Cross International Response Fund). From June 7 to July 5, fans will be able to read the book for free online at www.breetanner.com, which will also provide a link to the American Red Cross website where they can donate to support relief efforts in Haiti, Chile, and around the globe.
On her website Stephenie said she had been writing Bree’s story in between books, just for fun. She had originally intended for her story to be included in the The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, but when the story was complete it was 200+ pages and therefore too long for The Official Guide. Stephenie’s publisher suggested releasing the Bree story on its own. One of the major benefits of this plan was that it would be out before the movie, so people would get to know Bree before they saw her in the film.
The one thing Stephenie asked for was since this story had always been an “extra” and was meant to be released with the Guide, she wanted to be able to offer it to her fans for FREE as a gift.
A physical book with a really cool cover (see picture) that can be added to your The Twilight Saga set will be available on June 5th and starting at noon on June 7th until July 5th, it will also be available (free) online at www.breetanner.com.
Sweet Twilight goodness.
