Beyonce and Jay-z are notorious for keeping secrets. When they wed almost four years ago in an uber private ceremony most of their fans were completely shocked. Even after the vows had been said the two remained tight lipped about the wedding and marriage for many months. Neither celebrity referred to each other as their spouse during major events even after the secret was out during the first year of their marriage.
Now after what seems like forever—for her fans at least, Beyonce, in a quiet and classy way announced last night that her and jay-z make 3.
Stepping out to the paparazzi platform outside of the 27th annual MTV Video Awards, draped in an orange one shoulder gown, Beyonce posed for the cameras flashed a smile and to the roar of the crowd gently cupped her bulging baby bump.
She later performed her song ‘Love on Top’ wearing a glittered tuxedo and black pants. At the end of the memorable performance she loses the jacket and rubs her baby belly and smiles towards a beaming Jay-Z in the crowd. Beyonce told CNN’s Piers Morgan in a interview earlier this summer:
“I feel like a woman. I feel like I’m very aware of who I am. I feel great and I feel like 30 is the ideal age [to start a family], because you’re mature enough to know who you are and to have your boundaries and your standards, and not be afraid, too polite — but you’re young enough to be a young woman,” she said. “I’m so looking forward to it.”
Fans and on lookers alike seem to love this couple not just for their musical talents or their incredible business savvy but because they seem to possess old fashioned values. This couple found love then marriage and then a baby. They show constant mutual support of their careers and seem to understand what it means to keep your marriage and life somewhat private.
How can we take a cue from this power couple on keeping what’s sacred protected from the outside world?
