I am not going to deny that growing up I was very upset to learn that Maverick and Charlie (Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis, Top Gun) weren’t actually married in real life…. Or Johnny and Baby (Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, Dirty Dancing). “What do you mean they don’t live happily ever after?!” I admit that I get equally intrigued (albeit a bit more realistic) when celebrities are dating outside of a soundstage (co-stars or not). Here are the celebrity couples I’d love to see get married (yes, some are engaged – but in Hollywood that doesn’t always mean much).
Jennifer Anniston and Justin Theroux
Personally, I’d just like to see her married again and she seems to be pretty smitten by this guy. Aniston seems to get a bad rap in Hollywood, whether it’s for bad relationship choices or blockbuster-disappointment movies, but frankly, I don’t think she deserves it. I’d love to see her get married, even if it was to stop the tabloids for suggesting she is still pining over her ex-husband Brad Pitt. Theroux stars with Aniston in Wanderlust due out this fall.Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
Ha. Didn’t see that coming next after Aniston did you? But come on, they are raising 6 children together while simultaneously trying to the save the planet and make blockbuster movies – what’s a little wedding? And just think of the guest list! And the flower girls and ring bearers!Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied
The pair met on the set of Black Swan and they have been inseparable ever since. Portman just gave birth to their first son on June 6, 2011. They are engaged but reports say they are in no rush to get married. Portman and Millepied seem to be following suit with the trend in Hollywood of putting the baby before the altar.Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo
Go ahead and get married already! You’re together, then you’re not, then you are. But please – PLEASE, do not televise the wedding. TVGuide.com reported that they will star in their own television special, Nick and Vanessa’s Dream Wedding, on TLC. That did not work out so well for you the first time around, Nick – don’t do it again. (Yes, of course I will watch if they do).Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham
May 25, 2011, marked the end of Winfrey’s 25-year talk show run, and while she may be very busy getting her network, OWN, off and running, it would be endearing to see Winfrey and Graham finally tie the knot. And of course I am assuming Gayle King would be the maid of honor. (And yet another star-studded guest list!)Author’s Note: No, I will not include Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez on this list – they are wayyyyy too young to get married.
