Inspired by the PSA urging Justin Timberlake to stop acting and go back to making music, I thought I would offer up to a few celebrities what I think their New Year’s Resolutions should be (celebrities like to have things done for them… why not this?).
According to the article People Magazine wrote on their 2011 pick for Sexiest Man Alive, you did your senior thesis on film adaptations of Lolita. *I* love Lolita. I have read it at least once a year for the past ten years, still wear the worn and tattered Lolita t-shirt my best friend gave me, have a framed movie poster (from the original with Shelley Winters and Peter Sellers) in my living room… how ‘bout you push for another film adaptation to be made starring you (and me).
Ryan Gosling
That thing you did … that little movie called “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” … yeah, that. Resolve to make more movies like that. And keep breaking up street fights like the good samaritan that you are. You know what Ryan Gosling – don’t change a thing. You don’t even need resolutions because that’s how awesome you are.
Jennifer Aniston
Go ahead, dive back in the murky waters of marriage-dom. After last year’s Kardashian wedding debacle we could all use a solid Jen Aniston wedding splashed on the cover of every tabloid from here to Abu Dhabi. We know you’d be gorgeous and because you are cool-like-that the guest list would include just a handful of your Hollywood Elite friends and probably in an exotic location – that’s a TV special I’d watch.
Ocean’s 14 anyone? While I may take issue with each of you individually at times (need I remind you of my strong movie opinions yet again?). I loved seeing you all together – snappy outfits, Pitt always with the food in his hand, Damon with his pickpocket mastery and Clooney running the show with elegance and … hotness. But also Clooney, keep making amazing movies like The Descendants – 100 stars. and I hope you take home a lot of award hardware for your performance.
How many movies are left in this series? 2? 10? Listen, we had a good run didn’t we … Team Edward, Team Jacob, am I right?! But your original fan base is a smidge older now and we can’t go around constantly talking about vampire love affairs and vampire babies. And no offense to anyone involved, but I have had 4 babies and I felt like the birth scene in the last movie was a little weak. Sure, no one had to chew any of my babies out of my body… but still, it fell flat for me (crud. I just admitted that I saw the movie didn’t I … research, yep, it was all for work).
STOP REMAKING MOVIES. (except for the aforementioned Lolita). I am craving something new, exciting (NOT in 3D -I don’t need to leave the theater with vertigo) and definitely lacking in vampires or cars that drive fast (x5). I know that it makes sense – if it worked so well once let’s try it again and again ad nausuem, BUT there is a lot of great talent out there and it’s a shame not to take better advantage of it so knock it off.
Hey Vince, where ya been buddy? I watched Fred Claus (it is one of my favorite Christmas movies) at least 8 times this holiday season (may have snuck in a couple of viewings of Wedding Crashers also) and I just miss you dammit. Bring me something new, some classic Vaughn work. I miss you.
How about the readers? Do you have a suggestion for a Celebrity? Keep it clean – this is a family site;).
