One of the things that can make a celebrity seem so relatable or down-to-earth is seeing them with their children (Jennifer Garner anyone?) – but what about a celebrity and their grandchildren?!
Here are 5 of our favorite Celebrity Grandparents….
Goldie Hawn – This iconic actress has four grandchildren – two from daughter Kate Hudson and two from son, Oliver Hudson. It was Oliver, who gave her the nickname “Glam-Ma” – seems like a perfect fit to me.
Blythe Danner – This actress is grandmother to her daughter Gwyneth Paltrow’s two children, Apple and Moses (father is Coldplay front-man Chris Martin). She wanted them to call her ‘Woof,” but the kids, as they often do, came up with “Lalo” (not to be confused with Lee-lo… ).
Kris Jenner – The woman at the helm of the Kardashian empire is also a grandmother to her daughter Kourtney’s son Mason. Jenner’s daughter Khloe was married in 2009 and with her daughter Kim Kardashian’s recent wedding, I’d say more grandchildren are in her future.
Harrison Ford – Ford, 65, has 3 grandchildren, 5 sons (two with his first wife, two with his second and one adopted son with long-time girlfriend Calista Flockhart), got his pilot license in his 50s and still stars in blockbuster films (Cowboys and Aliens) – not a bad showing for a past recipient of People Magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ title.
Tom Hanks – In February of this year, Hanks became a grandfather for the first time, when son Colin became a dad. I bet he will make an amazing grandparent. I picture him doing over-the-top voices when reading to his grandkids and initiating the food fights during holiday dinners. Do you think he’ll act out scenes from Toy Story?
I have four children on my own so I am hoping for – at a minimum – four grandchildren. Since the oldest of my children is six, I figure I have plenty of time to work on a cool nickname.
