Hollywood royalty donned designer gowns and magnificent jewels as they walked down the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards. He’s back! Once again, controversial writer/producer/actor Ricky Gervais hosted the live event despite taking quite a bit of heat for ruffling a few celebrity feathers during his hosting gig last year.
Hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the event took place on Sunday, January 15th in Beverly Hills, CA. The HFPA, comprised of about 90 entertainment reporters representing 55 countries, selected the winners which often serve as a predictor for the granddaddy of all awards – the Oscars.
Although many tune into award shows to see “who” the rich and famous are wearing, the Golden Globes is an awards’ ceremony. And while it is an honor to be nominated, winning surely has got to be much better! Despite all the buzz, hoopla and friendly wagering, who took home the 5.5 pound statuette?
