Bottle cap necklaces are all the rage right now. My 9 year old daughter loves to wear them and make them. They are easy and fun and make the perfect Valentine’s gift for teachers and special friends.
Supplies:
- Bottle caps from your local craft store in the scrap booking section
- Stickers
- Round washers (hardware department)
- Round magnets
- Ribbon or cording
Directions:
First, decorate the bottle cap. We lined the base of ours with a doily-type sticker and then put a heart sticker on top:

Next, glue the magnet on the back of the bottle cap. You can also buy magnets that already have a sticky back. Either kind works well. Set this aside to dry.
Take the washer and thread the cord thru the hole:

Pull the end of the cord thru the loop to firmly attach the washer to the cording or ribbon:

¡¡Lovely idea!!
I’m thinking this will be the Mother’s Day gift my students make this year! Fun, easy and QUICK! We don’t have a lot of time in the instructional day, so this will work very well!
Thanks for the great idea! You and your copious DIY projects amaze me!
what size are your washers and magnets? These are too cute!
