Not since June Cleaver ruled the housewife airwaves have Aprons been more popular. From vintage collectors, to retro-modern designers and creators of new Aprons, todays domestic diva can choose an Apron to fit any style…
One of my favorite modern Apronistas is Kelly McCants at Modern June. She creates adorable, practical Aprons that look good AND help you keep clean in the kitchen. I love this full Apron in a gorgeous oilcloth fabric!
I love all things whimsical. And there is nothing more whimsical that the Aprons Betty sells at the Snappyshop. Did I mention I love appliques? This bacon and egg apron has me over the moon! She also does squirrels, salads, and the cutest chicken!!
The Apron that I wear every day, and even out of the house sometimes, was inspired by this Apron by Liz Lamoreux. Big pockets, reversible, and cute funky fabrics. It’s perfect for putting all the little goodies that we all tend to accumulate during the day. And I have run to tht store in mine – it’s great for your keys, wallet, phone and grocery list!
And if you ever want to make your own Apron, you can’t go wrong with the new pattern from Meg at Montessori by Hand – It’s feminine, flattering, AND reversible!

Oh, that last one is gorgeous! I have an apron I like, but it is huge. I need to get one that is sized for a small woman like me! I’d love to get my daughter one, as well. Any tips on a great place to get children’s?

I’m loving the apron come back too! I got one from Kitchen Madonna (kitchenmadonna.etsy.com) and it is amazing… so cute, I get so many compliments on it! One of the comments on my blog suggested you could go “commando” underneath it when cooking a romantic dinner for hubby! LOL!
I just love aprons! I have 3 of my great Grandmothers aprons and a lovely new one from Vera Bradley. I really want to find a matching apron for myself and my daughter.
Ooh, I love these aprons. I especially like the last one. I’ve been thinking about buying an apron or two since I tend to make a mess when I’m cooking.
I’d like one with a drape shoulder rather than a tie or string. They hurt my neck after a long day. Got any designs for us there? I saw one on an older lady in the church kitchen and said to myself, “I need that.” She said, “I made it years ago and refresh them on occasion. I might make you one if you are really nice.”
Well, I’m still waiting and might have to get busy…I must not be “nice” enough!
I thought I was the only woman in America left that LOVED aprons. LOL

My toddler has recently fallen in love with aprons, which has made me really take notice, too. I’m going to try my hand at sewing some mother/daughter combos. I’ll let you know how it goes!
I suggested to my husband that he get me an apron this year for Christmas. He surprised me with an amazing, bright, fun retro vinyl apron. It’s not incredibly flattering… but it’s functional. I think I’d like to make a skirt apron. The applique is adorable on the coffe, eggs and bacon apron. And to the fabric store I run.
