Have your baby announcements in the mail days after baby’s birth by making them in advance and everyone on your list will be very impressed!
In this digital age this can be pretty simple, you can design them before the baby is born, then afterwards insert the name and stats (and a picture, of course), print and you’re good to go! You could design them on your own and use a local store (such as Walgreen’s or Costco) to print them for you so you don’t have to worry about delivery. If you have a decent printer, printing at home is also an option.
Prefer paper? Create the background beforehand and leave a block of space for the name and stats. You’ll print this off from your computer and glue it on the background after the baby is born.
This is what I did for my first son, before he was born. I glued on the animal print paper to white cardstock and added the stickers. After he was born, I printed out the small white rectangle that has his name and stats. Quick and easy.
You can also address and stamp envelopes before baby comes.
Don’t know the gender? I didn’t for my second son, so I picked out some gender neutral paper and buttons to use and then had some blue or pink paper to print the name and stats on.
One thing I totally loved about those announcements was that I mounted them on magnet sheets. This article from Creating Keepsakes Magazine was my inspiration.
