Sadly, fall is almost here and that means it’s time to put on some gosh darn socks. You should know that if I didn’t live in a very, very rainy city, I’d go sock-less ALL YEAR ROUND. But, that’s not practical in Portland, Oregon. Anyway – I’m rambling (which I am GOOD AT). So, I once tried to knit a pair of socks before and got all confused and huffy at the whole heel turning point. So, I threw my sock yarn into the yarn room and instead made SCARVES out of it. Very, very thin scarves.
Last month, my sweet friend Nic sent me a care package containing some absolutely delicious sock yarn.
The yarn contained a note instructing me to knit some cozy socks while recovering from surgery (I’m okay! All healed!) So, that brings us to our problem. I AM A SOCK KNITTING FAILURE. I want to try again, but I’m scared to do it alone. Will you please join me?
Nic helped me in finding two simple sock patterns – Basic Ribbed Sock and Monkey Socks. I’ll be knitting the Monkey Socks – and I’m thinking September 15th is a good day to kick things off! I’ve started a Flickr Group where we can share photos of our progress.
What are you waiting for! Comment and let me know if you’re in!
