These soft, romantic rubber stamped Christmas cards are simple to create, and very versatile. You can create your own “look” and style by varying the colors and stamps used. Also, you can create them in mere minutes!
Stamped Christmas Card Materials:
- colored card stock
- white card stock
- dye ink pads in 3 colors
- black dye ink pad
- dark green ink pad
- 3 rubber stamps- 2 should be background stamps (in my example, I have a word background stamp and a pine needles background stamp) and 1 should be a stamp that is the focal image for the card (in this case, the candle)
Stamped Christmas Card Directions:
- Fold a piece of dark card stock in half to create a fold-over greeting card. This can be a rectangle like shown here or it could be square. You could make it longer and skinnier, or you could hold it horizontally instead of vertically. Use your imagination, and do what is most comfortable for you!
- Cut a piece of white card stock that will fit on the front of the card, leaving a 1/4 inch border on the edge.
- Using a soft sponge, pat dye ink colors onto the white card stock until a pleasing background is created. In the example above, I used light blue, soft violet and rose colored dye ink pads. You can use any combination that makes YOU smile!
- Create an interesting background using your 2 background stamps. I stamped the words stamp at an angle in black dye ink. Then I stamped the pine needles stamp around the edges in dark green ink for contrast.
- Stamp your focal image (my example shows a candle) in a prominent place on the card using black dye ink.
- Glue your design onto the dark card stock, leaving the 1/4 inch border around the edge.

Interesting ideas…..where can you get these stamp choices?>
Hi Kim! Thanks for your comments about my cards. I have recently moved my art room/study space around and can’t for the life of me find my box of Christmas/holiday rubber stamps. Which has me confounded, to say the least. I do believe that at least a few of these stamps were from Magenta, http://www.magentastyle.com But you can create this “look” with any number of stamps, even just from your local Michael’s craft store, or A.C. Moore! Let us know how it goes. Wishing you happy holidays and warm cozy blankets (it’s freezing here in Massachusetts!), Anne Marie
