Now days there are so many more options than I remember. It’s no longer limited to the dye packets you buy in the stores. Although those are still tons of fun, there are so many ways to get creative when make Easter Egg dying.

Rubber Band Eggs
Wrap rubber bands around hard-boiled eggs before soaking them in the dye. Remove fro dye, pat dry with paper towel, and remove rubber bands. The area covered by the rubber bands will be white. You can also soak in a second color to give the egg more dimension (do dark color first).
Masking Tape Eggs
Wrap masking tap around a hard-boiled egg. Dip in dye, remove and allow to dry. Once full dry, remove the tape to see the pattern. You can also dip the egg in a second color to give it more dimension (do dark color first).
Tie-Dyed Eggs
In the sink, place hard-boiled eggs in a colander. Drip food coloring over the eggs, then gently rotate the colander to help spread the color. Let set for 30 seconds. Repeat the steps with 1-2 additional colors. After all of the colors have set, rinse the eggs with water and allow to drain. Transfer to paper towels to dry.

I love the idea of the tie dyed eggs. Will definitely give it a go this Easter. Thanks for the tips
There are so many more options now than when I was little. I do remember writing on the egg with a white crayon. Then when we dipped the egg in the dye the decoration appeared – it was magical!
